He had to fill out a form that asked for his business address and his occupation. He had just been appointed a justice of the United States Supreme Court, so he used that as his business address. In the blank marked “occupation” he wrote the... ...more

LINK The Temptations of Christ Howard W. Hunter October 1976 General Conference, Friday Moring Session There are times in our struggle with the adversities of mortality when we become weary, weakened, and susceptible to the temptations that seem to be placed in our pathways. A lesson for us lies in the account of the life of the Savior. Soon after his baptism Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wild, uncultivated wilderness. There he remained for forty days and nights, preparing himself for the... ...more

October 1993 Conference Honoring the Priesthood James E. Faust Second Counselor in the First Presidency Brethren, I have never come before this great body of the priesthood with greater humility than I do this evening. I fervently pray, not only for understanding, but also that I might not be misunderstood. I earnestly seek the support of the Holy Spirit and the understanding of my brethren. I affirm my love and profound respect for the brethren of the priesthood of this church. Soon you younger... ...more

Alma’s approach is still the right response. 92907_000_005 President Ezra Taft Benson has often reminded us that all of the major Book of Mormon writers said they were writing for our day. Consequently, “we should constantly ask ourselves, ‘Why did the Lord inspire Mormon (or Moroni... ...more

With frozen feet and a barren wasteland, those early Saints surely needed faith to trust their prophet. Their very survival and lives were at stake. Yet the Lord rewarded their obedience and blessed and prospered those who followed His mouthpiece. And the Lord does the same today for you and me. This world is full of so many self-help books, so many self-proclaimed experts, so many theorists, educators, and philosophers who have advice and counsel to give on any and all subjects. With technology... ...more

Our natures must be changed to become as a child to gain the strength we must have to be safe in the times of moral peril. The prophets of God have foreseen the times in which we live. The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. Anyone with eyes to see the signs of the times and ears to hear the words of prophets knows that the peril is great. The peril comes from the forces of wickedness. Those forces are increasing. Principles From Prophets by President Monson

I think this is one of the more humerus talks President Monson has given. His combination of humor and truth is quite a joy to watch. He express how all the Prophets he has know are men of God that never wavered, faltered, never failed and that they are men of God. He expresses this and also tells of cute stories of each one. You cannot help but chuckle at his witty charm. I felt this was a good video to post for it is uplifting, funny and we all need a good laugh sometimes Read More →

There is a constant idea that is promoted in the world and even among members of the LDS Church that states if we have enough faith and do all the right things including believing and manifesting healing that we will be healed. This is not completely true. Yes it can happen but it is dependent on the Lord’s will. He may allow us to suffer some form of affliction or illness for our spiritual progression. He is refining us. So there are many causes where a person is doing all the right things... ...more

I acknowledge the divinity of the direction the Church is receiving from President Harold B. Lee, our prophet, and the strength and wisdom of President Tanner and President Romney and all of the other General Authorities as they assist in guiding and encouraging the Church membership throughout the world to live lives... ...more
