We must develop the paradigm of faith in the word’s of the Brethren. Those that struggle with questioning everything out of their mouths, wondering if they are at the time speaking as a man or from God will not be able to withstand the trials that lay ahead for our Church as the Wheat and the Tares separate. If one is always listening to a Prophet or Apostle with a critical eye, watching and waiting or wondering if what they are saying is correct or not, is NOT a faithful member. A member... ...more

Ether 8:24 24 Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you; or wo be unto it, because of the blood of them who have been slain; for they cry from the dust for vengeance upon it, and also upon those who built it up. So what is the awful situation we are told to awake to? To awake to our awful situation is not to awake only to the fact that a secret... ...more
Is General Conference Not Being Taken Seriously?

This is not really a topic that comes up at Church, but online I have now seen this often, where people dismiss Conference talks as not doctrine. I have been shocked at the amount of LDS that are participate on online forums that completely disregard General Conference as just opinions of the Brethren and not anymore than that. I have to say I am very taken back by this common opinion. Do most LDS feel this way? That conference is merely good men talking about good stuff but the also that they just... ...more

The following quotes represent very well how I feel about the Brethren and the vital importance in Sustaining and Standing up for the Truth of Father’s Plan, His Anointed and Testifying of Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. These following quotes came from http://institute.lds.org/manuals/teachings-of-the-livings-prophets/tlp-11-2.asp Those Who Oppose or Reject the Counsel of Prophets Lose the Spirit of the Lord We cannot oppose the Lord’s prophets without bringing upon ourselves the... ...more

LDS.org LINK I find this talk to be one of the best talks to help with the depression that can so easily beset us in this difficult life. We live in an age when, as the Lord retold, men’s hearts are failing them, not only physically but in spirit. (See D&C 45:26.) Many are giving up heart for the battle of life. Suicide ranks as a major cause of death of college students. As the showdown between good and evil approaches with its accompanying trials and tribulations, Satan is increasingly striving... ...more

Bruce R. McConkie, “The Caravan Moves On,” Ensign, Nov 1984, 82 LDS.org I propose some simple tests that all of us may take to determine if we are true to the faith. They consist of a few basic questions, all of which must be answered correctly in order to gain the full blessings of the gospel in this life and inherit eternal life in the realms ahead. Our well-beloved brother Paul, an Apostle of old, counsels us in these words: “Examine yourselves, whether ye... ...more

Preventing Strengths from Becoming Our Downfall As I conclude, I need to caution myself and each of my readers that the very nature of this message could tend to the same downfall that it warns against. The idea that our strengths can become our weaknesses could be understood to imply... ...more

It is so important that we put on the Whole Armor of God. Each piece is vital to our safety and ability to return to Father. Below are a video and article from the Church showing this truth. These are a good overview to remind ourselves of what each piece of the armor is and how easy it is to remove even just part of the armor leaving ourselves vulnerable to the fiery darts of the adversary. Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “We Are Doing a Great Work and Cannot Come Down,” Ensign, May 2009, 59–62 We cannot and we must not allow ourselves to get distracted from our sacred duty. We cannot and we must not lose focus on the things that matter most. My dear brethren, I have known for a few months the message I want to give to you today. During that time, I have searched for a story that would illustrate what I want to say. I looked for a story about farming. I looked... ...more

Ezra Taft Benson, “Cleansing the Inner Vessel,” Ensign, May 1986, 4 My beloved brethren and sisters, as we commence another general conference of the Church, I earnestly seek an interest in your faith and prayers that what I say may bless and edify our souls. I realize my dependence upon the Lord, and I also know that Jesus Christ is the head of this church and that through Him we can do all things that are needful. I commend those of you who are present here this morning, as well as you who... ...more
